Case Study – Hotel, Elizabeth Street Brisbane, from $6.5 million to $16 million in just 12 months

The 800m² site was acquired in 2006 for $6.5 million. The subsequent DA approval for a 275-room 4.5 star hotel doubled the number of rooms and the size of the building, quadrupling the yields. Careful planning maximised the efficiencies for hotel operations. The site and the design were sold in 2007 for $16 million.

Case Study – Mullins St, Redbank Plains (2012 – 2018)

Development manager. Initially engaged to improve the DA. Existing DA was for 80 house lots, UKL achieved 145 house lots. Included complete redesign and reclassification of vegetation areas. Worked with APA Gas, Santos, Energex, Main Roads and various other authorities. Recommended to the owner to wait until more favourable market conditions, and in 2017 obtained operational works approval. Civil works commenced in late 2017.

Case Study – CRUST PIZZA

UKL was approached to secure a DA when little hope was held for a positive outcome. The sensitive issues of a heritage building and Council’s other requirements were fully met. UKL used specialist consultants to secure the best outcome for the client, ticking all the boxes, within the expected timeframe, while satisfying all stakeholders’ respective interests.
